Day shift floats at least 2 times per week, to ms floor or pcu. Floor is 4:1, or 5:1, pcu is 4:1 with minimal pca assistance. When asked about floating they will tell you that the ICU is so short, but truth is he Med surg floors are short and ICU is fine. Floating may be less on nights.
