Our nurse manager made sure all of the techs and nurses, including travelers, got their breaks. If needed, the nurse manager would scrub in to assist the surgeon when we were short-staffed. The Pre-Op department is the absolute best, and I never had to hunt for a surgery consent or enter an order for blood products. I was never sent home against my will.
