You get 6 patients on a stepdown unit…They have charge nurses who usually have no assignment. I’m not entirely sure what the charge nurse does either. My patients HR was in the 150s and the charge nurse had the nerve to tell me to put in a sepsis review while I was stabilizing my patient. And you have to put the doctors orders in because they won’t.
