Very complex unit with neuro, neurosurgery, Pediatric epilepsy monitoring, renal , GI & general med surg. Helpful friendly staff. Got to put self schedule requests in & usually granted. Floated usually taking turns with staff unless they needed own staff for certain unit required skills.

Staffing 4:1 with seeming lack of consideration to age/acuity. No monitors or computers in room, horrific charting system no one knows, lack of appropriate orientation on safety, policies, charting, pumps, who to call. Charge nurses usually not helpful. Great physician communication and rounding, pet therapy, and child life. Just couldn’t ever get in a flow

Not travel friendly. They hire picu to staff entire hospital but do not tell you that upfront. Classic bait and switch. Cancle you all the time because they hire to many travelers, will not guarentee hours,,- basically treat you like crap.

Great staff. Amazing cafeteria. No call for travelers. I did have to share a locker-wasn’t crazy about that.
