Heavy patient loads. Some staff rude and unhelpful others friendly and helpful. A charge nurse that flat out hates travelers and will intentionally overload you. There’s a few mangers and one of them is fantastic. Frequent 1:5 assignments. Some of the CNA’s are lazy. Floated and given inappropriate assignments

If the pay is high enough, it is worth it. I would avoid signing with ortho or the M/S floors, but cards/neuro/onc were good and had better ratios. Would go back if the price was right. Def not the worst.

Ratios depend on unit. M/S and ortho will always be 1:6 or 7 pt. But usually only 4 or 5 until 11p. Cardiac and neuro is 1:3 or 4. Oncology 1:4-5. They will NOT give you block scheduling, at all. housing hard to find unless you want to live at Norma Jean roach motel. Overall not bad, especially if you’re on cardiac, neuro, oncology. Also better managers.

I'm a PCU nurse, but I worked this med/surg contract because the pay was so good. Found housing at a new complex mostly geared to students for $400/mo. Ratio was 6:1 on night shift, but 4:1 until 11pm, so the extra two patients were just PRNs, abx, and charting. Some floors had better ratios. Plenty of OT if you pick up on other floors.

I would not recommend this place, but some floors are better than others. Bad staff and management. Always changing things. Unsafe working environment. Always short staff. They can't keep any of their staff. No housing in the area but pay is good. The pay is good because they do 8 week contract with no benefits so they need to pay more to make up for that.

Mostly travelers. FT staff mostly great. Poor management. Chaotic days; overloaded with call. One of the worst contracts ever. No housing available. Recently sold; things may change.
