The staff nurses do 8 hour shifts and the travelers do 12 hour shifts. They staff the step down unit with ICU travelers. I spent almost 85% of my time floating to the step down unit----most of us did. The management doesn't not value travelers. Watch your back if you decide to go there for the money.
