An explanation of anonymous reporting

Anonymous?: No

If you choose 'No' for Anonymous reporting your entry will look similar to the following:

facility name city state date canceled reason title dept
Alta Bates Summit Medical Center Berkeley California 5/1/2017 A patient accused me of hitting them RN ER

As you can see above, the reporter chose to make their contract date visible, the reason they were canceled visible, the department they worked visible and their title visible to everyone; making it easy for a facility or an agency to determine who made the report.

Knowing the contract date makes it easy for a facility, or even an agency, to do a database search for travelers that worked on that date; furthermore, they can narrow the search down to RN's in the ER. I'm sure there was probably only one ER RN traveler, during that time period, that was accused of hitting a patient which would deanonymize the traveler reporting the cancellation.

Anonymous?: Yes

If you choose 'Yes' for Anonymous reporting your entry will look similar to the following:

facility name city state date canceled reason title dept
Alta Bates Summit Medical Center Berkeley California 2017 unknown unknown unknown

As you can see above, reported data for the fields of reason, title and dept are automatically changed to unknown to help protect the identity of the traveler making the report so it's very difficult for them to be identified by the facility or an agency.

Changing the contract date to only show the year means any canceled traveler from that year could have reported the cancellation. To further help obscure a reporters identity, anonymous reporting also changes the reason because sometimes that is very specific to why a traveler was canceled (as in the above example for 'non-anonymous' reporting). For additional anonymity, the title and dept are also hidden so that the reporters identity cannot be narrowed down by those identifiers.

The protection of your identity is our highest priority, but we still ask that you provide all the requested data so we can track how many facilities are canceling for what reasons, what dept.'s are canceling frequently and what titles are being effected. We already have some quarterly reports that we provide and are working on providing more in the future. The data you provide is essential for the quarterly reporting. Thank you so much for helping to improve our industry with better transparency and by helping future travelers avoid bad situations.
